Here is the thing nobody selling a Bosphorus sunset cruise will tell you: almost everyone charges about the same. We checked the published prices of the main operators on 27 August 2026 and most shared sunset tickets sit between 30 and 34 euro per person. So if you are comparing companies on price alone, you are comparing noise. The real differences are elsewhere, and they decide whether you spend two hours enjoying Istanbul or two hours regretting your booking. Disclosure: we run one of these cruises. Prices move, so verify before you book. We left out operators whose sites we could not open on the day, because quoting a price we have not seen would make this page worthless. The five things that actually differ 1. What you are sailing on. The word cruise covers everything from a converted passenger ferry with three hundred seats to a small yacht with a deck you can move around on. Look for photographs of the actual vessel, not a stock sunset. If a company shows you the sky instead of the vessel, there is usually a reason. 2. A live guide or a recording. Some tours hand you an audio guide and headphones. Others have a guide on board who answers questions, points out which yalı belonged to whom, and adapts when the light does something unusual. Ours is a live guide. This is the difference people mention most afterwards. 3. Where you board. A pier in the centre and a pier forty minutes up the coast are advertised identically. Check the actual boarding address against where you are staying before you book, not after. 4. What the ticket includes. Ask specifically about drinks, snacks and whether there is a bar. A cheap ticket with everything sold separately on board is not cheap. 5. Who is legally responsible. A licence number and a company behind the vessel matter on the one evening in fifty when something goes wrong. Look for a TÜRSAB number on the site, and check that the reviews belong to the company selling you the ticket rather than to a marketplace listing. Booking direct or through a platform Most of these cruises are also sold on Viator and GetYourGuide, and the platform price is not the same as the operator price. We measured our own: 34 euro booking direct against 35.37 euro for the same seat on GetYourGuide. The gap is small, but it is real, and it exists on every operator because the platform takes a commission. What the platform gives you in return is a familiar checkout and a dispute process. What booking direct gives you is a person to message when your flight is late. Neither is wrong. Just do not assume the platform is cheaper, because it usually is not. The first is someone else, the second is a private charter and costs from 150 euro per hour. Golden Sunset Tour Prices 30 euro midweek and 34 euro at weekends, and states openly that it adds no aggregator commission. Best for: travellers with flexible dates who can move to a Monday or a Tuesday and want the lowest published number. Not for you if: your date is fixed to a weekend, where the price advantage disappears. Merry Sails Shared sunset from 30 euro with a headline price of 34 euro, and a broad catalogue that also covers dinner cruises and private charter from 220 euro. Best for: people who want to compare several formats on one site before deciding. Not for you if: you want to know exactly which vessel you are boarding. Broad catalogues tend to mean several different vessels. Velena Travel Sunset cruise at 60 euro per person, with morning and afternoon cruises at 50 euro. The most expensive published shared sunset price we found. Best for: those who want a daytime cruise, which most sunset-focused operators do not run. Not for you if: you are comparing on price for the sunset slot specifically. When a shared cruise is the wrong choice If the evening is the point. A proposal, a birthday, an anniversary: on a shared cruise you are sharing that moment with a deck full of strangers and a fixed schedule. A private charter starts at 150 euro per hour for the whole yacht, which for four or more people is often closer to the shared ticket than people expect. If you only want the view. The Şehir Hatları public ferry runs the same water for the price of a coffee. No guide, no drink, no deck to yourself, but the Bosphorus does not know the difference.
