## Description

A full day costs less per hour, and that is the whole point Most private charters on the Bosphorus are two hours. Two hours is enough for a sunset, and it is what most people book because it is what most operators sell. It is also the most expensive way to buy time on a yacht. A short charter starts at €150 per hour with a two-hour minimum. From six hours the rate starts at €120 per hour, because the yacht and its crew are yours for the day rather than for an evening. Eight hours — the usual shape of a full day — is €960 for the whole yacht, not per person. The number worth doing in your head Ten guests sharing an eight-hour day works out at €96 each. That is €12 per person per hour, for a yacht nobody else boards, a route you choose, and as long in the water as you want. A seat on our shared two-hour sunset tour is €34, which is around €17 per person per hour. So a full private day is cheaper per person per hour than a shared ticket. That is not a sales line, it is arithmetic, and it is the single thing most people do not realise before they enquire. The yacht is priced whole, so the more of you there are and the longer you stay, the further the number falls. What a full day actually contains Three shapes work, and we will build whichever fits you. The strait, end to end North past Bebek and Rumeli Hisarı, beyond the second bridge where the traffic thins, up to Poyrazköy and the lighthouses at the mouth of the Black Sea. A long swim in the coves up there — the cleanest and quietest water on the Bosphorus — lunch at anchor, then the run home with the light behind you. See where we anchor to swim. The Princes’ Islands Ninety minutes out into the Marmara, where the water is calmer and clearer than anywhere on the strait. Anchor in Çam Limanı off Heybeliada, swim, eat on deck, and go ashore for an hour on an island with no cars on it. See the islands swimming guide. Water and table Half the day on the water and half of it eating: a morning swim in the northern coves, then down the strait to be dropped at a waterfront restaurant, with the yacht waiting afterwards. See which restaurants we can land you at. What is included Included: the yacht and its professional crew · fuel for your route · mooring and harbour fees · route planning before you arrive · swim ladder and life jackets in adult and children’s sizes. Optional, quoted before you confirm: catering from a meze table to a seated lunch · restaurant bookings ashore · a photographer · decoration. Not included: meals ashore · museum tickets. There is no port tax, booking fee or service charge added at the end. Who a full day is for It suits a group of eight or more where the per-person number does the persuading; a family who want the children in the water rather than sitting still for two hours; a company taking a team out for the day; and anyone who has done the two-hour sunset once and found it ended just as it got good. It is not for everyone. If you want one hour of golden light and a photograph, take the two-hour sunset cruise and keep the difference. If someone in the party is genuinely uneasy on water, eight hours is a long time to discover that. When to do it Swimming runs roughly June to September, warmest in August and early September — that is when the full day is at its best. From October the water is out but the day is not: the islands are emptier and better in autumn, the light is the finest of the year between September and November, and the shoreline lights up early enough to fit inside the day. From €120 per hour on bookings of six hours or more, for the whole yacht rather than per person. Eight hours comes to €960, six hours to €720. A shorter charter is €150 per hour with a two-hour minimum. Why is the hourly rate lower on a long day? Because a full day is a different thing to run. One booking fills the day — one preparation, one boarding, one turnaround — instead of two short charters with everything repeated in between. We would rather pass that back than sell the same day twice. How many guests can come on a full day? From a small group up to 200, across our own yacht and our partner fleet. The price is for the yacht, not per head, so the per-person figure falls as the group grows. Tell us the number and we will match the yacht to it. Is a full day cheaper than the shared group tour? Per person per hour, yes, once there are enough of you. Ten guests on an eight-hour day is around €12 per person per hour; a seat on the shared two-hour sunset tour is around €17. The full day also gets you a yacht nobody else boards and a route you choose. Can we swim on a full day? Yes, between roughly June and September, and it is the main reason to take the longer day. We anchor in the coves north of the second bridge or in the bays around the islands, put the swim ladder down and stay as long as you like. Can we make it six hours instead of eight? Yes. Six hours is the point where the lower rate begins, and it is enough for the islands or for the northern coves if you board early. We can run it longer than eight as well — tell us the shape of the day and we will price it. Is lunch included? No, but it is easy to arrange. Catering from a meze table to a seated lunch is quoted before you confirm, or the crew can drop you at a restaurant ashore and collect you afterwards. Many groups do one of each. What happens if the weather turns? Rain alone does not stop a departure — every yacht has an enclosed saloon as well as an open deck. If the captain cancels for safety you choose between another date and a full refund.
