Per Yacht, Not Per Person — How Istanbul Yacht Pricing Works

There are two very different ways to get on the water in Istanbul. Shared sightseeing cruises sell tickets per person, and you share the deck with strangers. A private yacht charter reserves the entire yacht exclusively for your group: your music, your route, your pace. Private charter pricing is therefore quoted per yacht, per hour — and because the cost is shared across your group, a private yacht is often closer in price to a good dinner out than people expect.

What a Private Yacht Costs by Duration

• 2 hours — from €300. The classic slot: enough for a full Bosphorus sunset run past Dolmabahçe Palace, Maiden’s Tower and the bridges.
• 3 hours — from €450. The most popular choice for marriage proposals and dinners: no rush, time for the golden hour and the city lights after dark.
• 4 hours — from €600. Parties and celebrations: a longer route, swimming stops in season, and time for everyone to actually enjoy the yacht.

The exact quote depends on the yacht and the date, so treat these as starting figures — the arithmetic is simply hours × hourly rate.

What’s Included — and What Costs Extra

Included in the hourly rate: the yacht reserved exclusively for your group, and the captain and crew.

Priced separately, only if you want them: catering and drinks, birthday cake, decoration, DJ or live music, photographer, flowers. This is deliberate — a couple on a quiet sunset cruise shouldn’t pay for a party package they’ll never use. You choose only the extras that fit your plan, and each is quoted before you book.

Yacht rental in Turkey vs. yacht rental in Istanbul

Searches for “yacht rental Turkey” usually mean the coast: a gulet or motor yacht in Bodrum, Fethiye or Marmaris, chartered by the day or the week with cabins, a route between bays and a price that covers several days. Istanbul is a different product. On the Bosphorus you charter by the hour, from €150 per hour for the whole yacht with a two-hour minimum, and you board in the middle of a city of sixteen million rather than at a marina. There is no overnight sailing between ports; the exception is our yacht stay, where you sleep on board at a marina for two to four nights.

How many guests can join?

From a couple celebrating alone up to 200 guests, depending on the yacht and layout — the largest come from our partner fleet.

What if our plans change?

Cancellation or date changes are free up to 24 hours before departure.

How do I get an exact price?

Is it cheaper to book on Viator or GetYourGuide?

No — it is cheaper here. Those platforms resell our shared sunset departure and add their own commission on top of our price, so the same seat on the same yacht costs more there than it does on this site. That is exactly why we can offer a best price guarantee: find the same date and the same option cheaper on a booking platform, send us the screenshot before you sail, and we will match it. Private charters are not sold on the platforms at all — those are arranged directly with us.

Are there any hidden fees or port taxes?

No. The hourly rate is the rate. There is no port tax, booking fee or service charge added at the end, and the quote we send covers the yacht for the hours you book. Extras — catering, decoration, a musician, a transfer — are priced separately and only if you ask for them.

Are winter prices cheaper?

On the shared sunset tour, yes: an adult ticket is €34 from 19 March to 2 November and €26 from 3 November to 18 March. Children aged 3 to 7 pay €15 year-round. For a private charter, send us your date and we will quote it.

Do children pay the full price?

On the shared group tour, children aged 3 to 7 pay a child fare and under-3s travel free, though please still add them to the booking so we know how many to expect. From age 8 the adult fare applies — there is no youth discount on this tour. Private charters are priced per yacht, so children make no difference to the price.

How much does a private yacht cost in Istanbul?

From €150 per hour for the whole yacht with a two-hour minimum: €300 for 2 hours, €450 for 3, €600 for 4, and €120 per hour from 6 hours. Crew and fuel included; catering is extra. Prices are per yacht, not per person.

Do I need to pay a deposit?

For a special evening, yes: the yacht, the route and the timing are yours for €300 over two hours. For a plain sunset view, the shared tour at €34 a person is the sensible answer, and we will tell you so.

At around nine people the two meet: nine shared tickets cost €306, a two-hour private charter €300. Below that the shared tour is cheaper, above it the private yacht is.

How do I verify that a Bosphorus cruise company is licensed?
