Short answer: Wherever you are staying, the yacht is at Karaköy: the T1 tram from Sultanahmet, the funicular and tram or a downhill walk from Taksim, a short taxi from the Beşiktaş and Dolmabahçe hotels, the ferry from Kadıköy and Üsküdar. Be at the pier 10 to 15 minutes before departure. If you would rather not travel, a private charter can start from a pier closer to you.

Where the yacht is

Constantine Yachts is based in Karaköy, on the European shore where the Golden Horn opens into the Bosphorus. The meeting point is in front of the Balıkçı Kemal restaurant (Arap Cami, Üsküfçüler Sk., 34445 Beyoğlu), a few minutes on foot from the Karaköy tram stop, the ferry pier and the Galata Bridge. Once your booking is confirmed we send the exact pin on WhatsApp.

For public transport you will want an Istanbulkart, which covers tram, metro, funicular, bus and ferry and is sold and topped up at kiosks and machines at major stops. Each route in full is on our Getting to Karaköy page.

District by district

Sultanahmet

Board the T1 tram at the Sultanahmet stop and ride to Karaköy, about 15 minutes, then walk a short distance to the meeting point. If you prefer to walk, go down to Eminönü and cross the Galata Bridge on foot, about 25 minutes in total. A taxi takes about 10 to 15 minutes outside rush hour.

Taksim and Beyoğlu

The quickest is the F1 funicular from Taksim down to Kabataş, then the T1 tram two stops to Karaköy. The second is the M2 metro to Şişhane and a ten-minute walk downhill through Galata. Or walk the whole way, down İstiklal and through Galata to the water, about 20 to 25 minutes. On the way back, the Tünel funicular saves you the climb.

Beşiktaş and Dolmabahçe

A taxi or a coastal bus along the shore road takes about 10 minutes outside rush hour. Walking along the water takes about 25 to 30 minutes. For private charters, boarding at Kabataş or Beşiktaş is possible on request, with a distance-based surcharge quoted in writing.

Kadıköy and Üsküdar

The Şehir Hatları ferry from Kadıköy or Üsküdar to Karaköy takes about 20 minutes and arrives at the Karaköy ferry pier, a few minutes’ walk from the meeting point. The alternative is Marmaray to Sirkeci, then the walk across the Galata Bridge. For private charters, boarding at Kadıköy is possible on request, so nobody needs to cross first.

Bebek and Etiler

From Bebek, Arnavutköy or Etiler, a taxi to Karaköy takes about 20 minutes outside rush hour. Coastal buses run along the shore road to Kabataş, where the T1 tram covers the last two stops. For private charters, boarding at Bebek or Kuruçeşme is available on request. Details are on our Getting to Bebek page.

Airports

Istanbul Airport (IST) to Karaköy is roughly an hour by taxi outside rush hour and longer at peak. Sabiha Gökçen (SAW) is usually longer still and depends on bridge traffic. We do not promise airport times; avoid planning a cruise for the day you land unless there is a comfortable margin.

Cruise terminal

If you arrive by ship, you are already here. The Galataport cruise terminal is next to Karaköy and the meeting point is within walking distance of the terminal. More for ship passengers is on our Istanbul cruise port page.

All times are approximate and assume travel outside rush hour. Aim to be at the pier 10 to 15 minutes before departure. Parking around Karaköy is paid and scarce; a taxi is easier. Alternative piers are for private charters only.

If you would rather not travel

A private charter does not have to start at Karaköy. The yacht can collect you at Kabataş, Beşiktaş, Bebek, Kuruçeşme or Kadıköy on request. The distance-based surcharge appears in your written quote before you confirm; details are on our boarding points page. The shared Sunset Group Tour always departs from Karaköy, daily, at €34 per person in season and €26 in winter.

For private charters we can also arrange a hotel transfer as a paid extra, quoted with the booking. Private charters start from €150 per hour (minimum 2 hours). Constantine Yachts operates under AST Turizm, TÜRSAB licence A-805, since 1967, with more than 700 verified reviews as of August 2026. Write to us on WhatsApp at +90 536 399 14 42. Frequently Asked Questions

How do I get from Sultanahmet to the Bosphorus cruise?

Take the T1 tram from the Sultanahmet stop to Karaköy, about 15 minutes, then walk a short distance to the meeting point. Or walk down to Eminönü and across the Galata Bridge, about 25 minutes. A taxi takes about 10 to 15 minutes outside rush hour.

Is Karaköy easy to reach from Taksim?

Yes. Take the F1 funicular from Taksim to Kabataş and the T1 tram two stops to Karaköy, or the M2 metro to Şişhane and a ten-minute walk down through Galata. Walking all the way takes about 20 to 25 minutes, and the Tünel funicular saves the climb back up.

Can the yacht pick us up on the Asian side?

For private charters, yes. Boarding at Kadıköy is available on request, with a distance-based surcharge quoted in writing before you confirm. Guests on the shared Sunset Group Tour board at Karaköy; the ferry from Kadıköy or Üsküdar takes about 20 minutes.

How early should we arrive?

Be at the pier 10 to 15 minutes before departure. That leaves time to find the meeting point and board without rushing. Allow extra travel time; Istanbul traffic is unpredictable and sunset cruises cannot wait.

Can we book a cruise for the day we land at the airport?

We advise against a tight connection. Istanbul Airport is roughly an hour from Karaköy by taxi outside rush hour and longer at peak, and Sabiha Gökçen depends on bridge traffic. If arrival day is your only option, tell us your landing time and we will suggest a departure with a margin.

Is there parking near the pier?

There are paid car parks and paid street parking around Karaköy, but space is scarce, so a taxi or public transport is easier. For private charters, a hotel transfer can be added as a paid extra and quoted with the booking.
